Betsy has supported common sense gun reform and will continue to do so. No one should feel unsafe sending their child to school or shopping at a grocery store. It is important to protect our families and communities from gun violence, including an assault weapons ban.

INVEST IN public education

Betsy has used her senior position on the Appropriations Committee to support funding for public schools, Historically Black Colleges & Universities, Virginia Commonwealth University, as well as rebuilding Fox Elementary and modernizing schools. It is important that our taught history includes all facts, not just selected ones.

Betsy supports our LGBTQIA community knowing that it is crucial to eliminate discrimination and prevent bullying and suicide.
